Ben Blaisdell
At age 16, Ben was diagnosed with Leukemia; but today he stands before us celebrating his 16th year of survivorship! He and his family are forever thankful to Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Children's Hospital both in Boston, MA for saving his life. The support he received during his 2 + years of treatment, gave Ben an incredible sense of energy and passion for life and it shows not only in his professional life but also in his personal life.
Ben and his wife Lacey live in Marblehead, MA, with their young son Harrison. He and his wife Lacey are members of the Dana Farber Leadership Council. The day after Lacey and Ben's wedding September of 2004, the entire wedding party walked the Jimmy Fund Walk in wedding attire to the cheers of all of Boston.
When Ben was a senior at St. John's Preparatory School in Danvers, MA, he began speaking regularly on behalf of Dana Farber telling his story of how it is never time to give up, how bad can turn into good and how life is really just fine, perhaps even better, after cancer. Ben is one of the thousands of people who have survived their cancers. Support for cancer research has advanced care and saved lives like Ben's. Take advantage of improvements in care.
